When it Might be Time to Go Home

I just spent a good (what seemed like) 2 minutes trying to use my mobile phone as a mouse. Without noticing. For 2 minutes. And getting really frustrated that I couldn't get the damn thing to WORK.
Heh. Heh.

Going to eat Indian food tonight before seeing Slumdog Millionaire.
There's more India calling on the horizon, but I'll leave that for another post.

Go see Milk. It's excellent.

Do NOT watch 2 movies in one week about the Rwandan genocide while taking clomid or you will have movies about dead babies. But really, when IS a good time to watch a movie like this?
If you are so inclined as I am for a historical tearjerker, these movies were also excellent if thoroughly heart wrenching: Beyond the Gates and Sometime in April.

I do that with my phone at least once a month! It's a pebble so it's kind of mouse-shaped. I saw Milk last night and thought it was amazing. The theater didn't have any heat though and I still feel cold. I want to see it again with Fern.

Enjoy dinner and movie tonight!

I can't wait for Milk to finally make its way to the midwest. Ahhh to have movies available when they first premiere!

We watched Beyond the Gates of Splendor based on your recommendation. I'm torn about it. I thought it was interesting and well done (for the most part) but tend to agree with the anthropologists (not in the film) who view this as cultural imperialism. The negative legacy of this mission is detailed on Wikipedia if you're interested. The arrogance of those missionaries is astounding to me (I'm fundamentally opposed to representatives of any religion claiming to know what people in other cultures want or need) and there was no one from the other "side" speaking to the downside of Operation Auca.

On a purely technical level, I found the soundtrack to be overbearing and unnecessary. There was music playing throughout the whole film! Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Milk, Slumdog Millionaire on the other hand were exceptional films. I think Milk was my favourite film of last year. It was utterly perfect.
