Pushing Back

***Oops! You are all correct, it's not until Nov. 7th. I assumed it was this weekend as it's always on the same weekend as Halloween. Yippee! We are ahead of the game, I love that.***

In anticipation of the time change this weekend, we have been tweaking the twin's schedule by 10 minutes each day.
Our goal is to have them at the hour change by the time it occurs.
So far, we're up to 30 minutes time change for naps, eating, bath and bed.

But, they are still waking up early--not QUITE as early as the 4:45am's they've done in the past month--but early. I hope this gets better, because I can't imagine them waking up even earlier once the time change happens. God help us.

For those of you who have had to deal with this before, how bad was it? Did it totally throw your baby off schedule? How long did it take to readjust?
Any tips/suggestions?

Thanks!

We're scared of this, too. I think last time it took about 2 weeks to adjust, sigh.

Wait, daylight savings is not this weekend, it's Nov 7th. Right?

I am terrified of this. Bird was 6 months this time last year and handled it fine. She currently wakes up before 5:30 every day. I really can't handle getting up at 4:15! I think we will just keep her up until 8pm a few days before the change and hope that works.

I don't remember ever adjusting my kids' schedule over the years (they are now 6, 5, and 2). I just go with the new time, so we eat and sleep based on the current time. If we normally eat at 7am, then breakfast is when the clock says 7am; if nap is at 1pm, then down for nap when the clock says 1pm; etc. Typically, within a couple of days, we're adjusted to the new time. Hopefully, the boys will adjust well and sleep past 4:30am for you!

I am also scared of the mornings with this time change and will be starting to turn her early as well.

when we moved from Austin to Toronto we had an hour time change. Jack adjusted fine. We just went cold turkey. We'll see how it goes on the 7th. He's been sleeping horribly anyways so I'm sure it wont be any different ;)

I'm personally really worried about this. Owen's up at 5:30 each day....how long will he get up at 4:30? AHHHH.

We planned to adjust her schedule last time but never did. It took her a little bit to adjust, having a hard time going to sleep.

I always think fall is easier because it's dark earlier. Their bodies seem to respond to the darkness and they go to sleep easier.I am hoping she doesn't wake up much earlier, that would not be fun at all.

I hope it all works out for your boys.

Oh crap. A) I didn't remember DLS was coming so soon (I rarely even know what day of the week it is)and B) I never though of this and how it would impact their sleep. Ugh.

Last year we were so freaked out about this because Little J was getting up regularly at 4:30 before the change. We adjusted slowly over the week before and, although there was still some adjusting we never did have a 3:30 morning that we were so scared of.
