There was also protein in my urine.
And....I'm back in the hospital.
It has turned into mild preeclampsia, which we knew all along it could. Some of my blood levels are coming back elevated as well, so I'm being poked and prodded quite a bit.
At least I had a nice 3 week reprieve at home! And Chicken got better just in time.
So, now my due date has been moved from 38 weeks to 37 weeks which is January 30. That's 10 days!!! I can do 10 days no problem. I hope my body cooperates as well and these babies stay in 10 more days.
In fact, Chicken and I are relieved that they wanted to admit me for the duration of the pregnancy because everything about a high risk pregnancy can change overnight and I feel much more comfortable here getting the best round the clock care.
That's why we choose a high risk specialist for this twin pregnancy and it was the right choice--BY FAR.
We're mentally prepared for them to come any day now, but it would be really nice for them to hold on to 37 weeks.
They still have me cleared for a vaginal birth unless things get crazy. I had my first (2) cervical checks today (OMG those F*cking hurt) and while I'm not dilated at all, my cervix is nice and soft. Also, when they did the non-stress test, it showed I was having mild contractions--but they are irregular and nothing I can feel.
Overall, things are fine and the babies are perfect which is the most important thing.
And in less than 3 hours we've made it to Aquarius! (No offense Capricorns but we really wanted Aquarius!) Little Aquarians who will be here in 10 days or less!
WOW.

YEA! Aquarians. Sorry to read about the hospitalization, but I agree you gotta feel safe and I am sure you feel much better being in hospital for the next to days until the baby fishes appear.
10 days!!! TEN! Holy shite! I'm glad you are at the hospital given the pre E. Lets hope it levels off and the babes stay put.
God Puffer, can you believe you are going to be holding two babies in less than two weeks!?!
Sending all my best for you and these babies.
It sounds like you're in good spirits. I'm glad you're getting the monitoring you need and that those babes are still staying put for now. And now you two are out of the house so it can be cleaned! :)
Sorry you're back in the hospital! I'm glad you're being to positive, though. WOW, ten days. Hopefully it will go by in a flash.
As an Aquarius who is about to be 42 on Friday I second your endorsement of the water carrier! Glad you're getting expert care and that Chicken recovered in time. Hope that all goes smooth and gentle for you and the babes and you keep well and so do they. Take care:)
Holy Monkey you are about to be a MOMMY! So glad you are in the hospital and being so positive about it! That attitude will definitely help you keep that blood pressure down. Thank God Chicken got better when she did so she is able to be there with you... this is going to be an exciting ride so rest up as much as you can and talk to eachother about anything and everything now that its just you TWO. Soon, you will be FOUR and the newer additions to the family will steal every ounce of your attention.
You've made it so far and have given your babies a great start! Be proud of yourself, everyday is a miracle. Wishing you a wonderful birth experience, I'll be thinking of you!
Hi Puffer- I am a local reader with a question for you (sorry to bother you when you obviously have much more important stuff going on!) and I'd love to email you with it if possible. i tried to email you through the email address on your profile (pufferandthebabyfishies@gmail.com) but it bounced back. do you have a different address I can try? if you don't want to post it here, my email is liz.lauren@gmail.com.
thanks and good luck!
SO glad you're in there, getting the monitoring you deserve. *hugs* I hope that both you get to keep them in a while longer, and that they come out before you get sick. ♥
