44 Days

That's how many days until Christmas (if I just counted correctly) and that is the deadline we have given ourselves to be 'ready' for these babies. I sure as hell hope that they don't come early (that would be almost 32 weeks) but I know all too well that the great unexpected can happen and we want to be ready and prepared.

My mom helped me a lot towards making this goal. We may have our differences, but this trip went much better than I ever expected. Monday was rough basically because I was so exhausted and I just didn't want to be around anyone or do anything. My mom and I were both so tired from the long weekend we never left the house on Monday and I don't think that was a good combination. Yesterday, things were much better as we got so many things done and went on a long walk and ran errands. It's good to get out of the house!

She totally surprised me and bought me a pair of boots. Now, I have never given in to the trend of these boots and quite frankly, I'm surprised that a pair of glorified Australian house shoes have lasted this long in the fashion world. BUT, they are really comfortable and warm and besides any of that...they are pretty darn easy for a heavily pregnant woman to get on and off.
I am still able to wear all of my regular shoes/boots and tie them...but I feel like I am favoring the ones that are really easy to get in and out of. And there are not many.
So I was talking about how would be perfect for a pregnant lady and then we were walking by a shoe store and my mom asked me if I'd like to go try on a pair. This is totally not like her at all, but I took her up on it and am now the proud owner of a very comfortable pair of boots! Thanks mom!
They aren't as cool or as cute as Olive's, but I don't think I could get those on right now!

Now it's all about getting the organizing and purging done of every shelf, cabinet and closet in this apartment. I am overwhelmed by everything that has to be done, but I know I can do it, one day at a time. I guess this is nesting, huh? It feels much better than packing and waiting to move, I can tell you that! What a relief.

PS--My mom even hailed her own cab to the airport today! I didn't have to leave the house! We're making progress....

Okay I had a mild freak out at the thought of 44 days til Christmas then read on and thought what am I worried about lol I'm glad you managed to have a good (and very useful) time with your Mom - especially including presents yay! I still don't get Ug boots as fashion (they're only for slippers in our house) but definitely see the benefit for pregnant ladies (and K has been known to wear her black pair to school in the winter on the sly lol)

Ohhh comfy shoes were my best friend during pregnancy. I even resorted to not so cute ones just so my giant shrek feet would feel better! hah. I did however wear cute maternity stuff and try to stay stylish otherwise.

So happy you and your mom had a good visit. I have also never been a fan of the Ugg boot, but have been contemplating a pair now that I'm so pregnant. I am still in flip flops!

LOL! I just got my first pair of Uggs this week, too! A coworker bought them for me as a gift. I never would have bought them otherwise, but you are right...they are so comfy and easy to get on/off for a pregger lady! Hope you enjoy them!

I'm glad your feet are nice and comfy! It's a lot, but you'll get everything done before the twins arrive. Nest, nest!

Glad things are going so well, sweets, both with Mom and the rest of it.

For me, I knew I was nesting when I found myself lying on my side on the bathroom floor with Clorox wipes cleaning the tile baseboards, thinking to myself, "HowEVER did these get so gross???". Trust me, it only gets more obscure!(especially since you know me and the fact that my give-a-shitter about floors is pretty much in a constant state of malfunction, although it's gotten better since the kids!)

I love you and can't wait to get Auntied twice in one day. You're the sister I've always wanted and I can't wait!!!!

I don't get that trend either but you can bet your ass that if someone gifted me a pair, I'd be a very happy, cozy girl. I hope you get to wear the hell out of those boots!

I'm so glad to hear that you and your mom had a nice visit. Perhaps babies will be the thing that you and bring you an your mom a little closer in the long run? Eh, just a thought.

Good luck with all the prep work doll. I wish I were there to give you a hand!
